The Portland Thorns Academy Discovery Program (U8–U10) is designed to identify, train, and develop young female soccer players who aspire to progress to the next levels, from the Pre-ECNL Academy to the ECNL Academy and ultimately the Thorns professional team.
The program emphasizes technical skill, ball mastery, and speed of play while allowing players to continue competing with their current club teams.

While we will not be holding a formal tryout for Thorns Rising, our first session on August 2 will serve as an informal evaluation opportunity for any new players interested in joining the program. We also look forward to welcoming back our returning players and encourage them to sign up for the Fall Session.
