OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. ODDS OF WINNING WILL DEPEND ON THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS AT EACH GAME. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. ALL DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED SOLELY BY BINDING ARBITRATION AND ENTRANTS WAIVE THE ABILITY TO BRING CLAIMS IN A CLASS ACTION FORMAT.
ELIGIBILITY: By participating in the “Find the Ring Sweepstakes” (the “Sweepstakes”), entrants agree to be bound by the official rules set forth herein (“Official Rules”) and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters. The Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the United States (including its commonwealths, territories, and possessions) (the “Eligible Territory”) who are eighteen (18) years of age (except in the case of residents of jurisdictions where the legal age of majority is greater than eighteen (18) years, such legal age of majority) or older at the time of entry. Employees, officers, and directors, and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and members of the same household (whether or not related), of Thorns LLC (“Thorns”), the other National Women's Soccer League (“NWSL”) entities and each of their respective parents, affiliated companies, subsidiaries, licensees, distributors, dealers, retailers, printers, advertising and promotion agencies, and any other entity associated with the Sweepstakes are not eligible to participate or win a prize. “NWSL Entities” means the executives, employees of the Thorns and of the other NWSL teams (“Clubs”), each of their parent, subsidiary, affiliated, and related entities, any entity which, now or in the future, controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with the Clubs, and the owners, general and limited partners, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, and agents of the foregoing entities. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Void outside the Eligible Territory and where prohibited or restricted by law, rule, or regulation.
ENTRY PERIOD: The Sweepstakes will be conducted during thirteen (13) designated Portland Thorns home games (each, a “Game”) to be held at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon. The Sweepstakes begins with the first of such Game scheduled on or about March 21, 2025 and ends with the final designated Game on or about November 2, 2025 (the “Entry Period”). Each Game will constitute a separate entry period for one prize. The opportunity to enter at a particular Game begins when the stadium gates open for that Game and ends as soon as a winner for that Game has been determined (or at the conclusion of that Game, whichever occurs first). The final winner will be determined on the date of the last Game in the Entry Period. The dates, times, and locations of the Games are subject to change at the discretion of the Sponsor due to unforeseen circumstances, including, but not limited to, changes in game schedules, venue availability, weather conditions, or other events beyond Sponsor’s control. Any changes will be communicated through Sponsor’s official channels, including, but not limited to, the Portland Thorns’ website and social media pages. Sponsor is not responsible for any costs or inconvenience caused by such changes.
Location: All entry activities will take place at Providence Park, 1844 SW Morrison Street, Portland, OR 97205 (the “Venue”), during the Portland Thorns home games specified above. Participants must be physically present at the Venue during a designated Game to participate.
How to Enter:
Attend a Game: Attend one of the Portland Thorns home games during the Entry Period at Providence Park. Entry is only available in-person at the Venue; there is no online or mail-in method of entry.
Find the Ring Video Doorbell: Once inside, search for the Ring Video Doorbell that has been placed on the concourse of the stadium. The device will be identifiable as part of this promotion.
Ring and Shout: When you locate the Ring Video Doorbell, press the doorbell button to “ring” it and clearly yell “Let’s Go Thorns” into the Ring Video Doorbell.
Win by Being First: The first eligible participant at each Game to complete the above step (ring the doorbell and say the phrase) will be deemed the potential winner for that Game, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.
Limit of Attempts: Each individual may only win once, but if you do not win at a given Game, you may attempt to participate again at future Games. Once a winner has been determined at a Game, that Game’s entry opportunity is closed. No other form of entry (e.g. email, social media, or mail) is accepted. Any attempt to participate by any method other than the above, or any attempt to disrupt or tamper with the Sweepstakes, is prohibited and may result in disqualification.
RANDOM DRAWING; ODDS: Subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules, the potential winner will be declared the official winner of the Sweepstakes. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible participants at each Game. Limit one (1) prize per person, family, or household throughout the duration of the Sweepstakes. Once an individual has won a prize at one Thorns game, s/he is not eligible to win at any subsequent Thorns game in this Sweepstakes.
PRIZE: A total of thirteen (13) prizes are available, one (1) prize for each Game. Each prize consists of one (1) Ring Video Doorbell (model and features to be determined by Sponsor).
Approximate retail value (“ARV”) of each Ring Video Doorbell prize is $100. Total ARV of all prizes to be awarded in this Sweepstakes is $1300. Actual prize ARV may vary based on the then-current market value of one Ring Video Doorbell at time of award. No prize component has a cash value. Any difference between the stated ARV and the actual value of the prize at time of award will not be provided.
For each Game, the potential winner will be the first person who successfully completes the How to Enter requirements during that Game, as determined by the Sponsor’s representative on site. Sponsor (or its representatives) will attempt to notify the potential winner immediately at the Venue once they are identified. This may include a Sponsor representative approaching the winner in person at the Ring Video Doorbell location and/or a notification displayed on the scoreboard or video screen.
PRIZE CONDITIONS: All prize details shall be determined in the sole and absolute discretion of Thorns. Thorns reserves the right to substitute prizes (or a portion thereof) of equal or greater value. No substitutions or transfers of a prize is permitted by any winner, unless otherwise determined in writing by Thorns in its sole discretion. By accepting the prize, each Winner agrees to these Official Rules. Each winner assumes all responsibility for acceptance and/or use of their prize. In addition, each winner is solely responsible (i) for reporting and payment of any federal, state, local, and municipal taxes on the prize. Prizes have no cash value; no prize substitution or cash redemption allowed by the winner. NWSL game/event/exhibition dates and times are determined in the sole discretion of the NWSL and/or the applicable Club and may be subject to change. Thorns and the NWSL Entities reserve the right to remove or to deny entry to the winner and/or his/her guest(s) who engage in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person at the game/event/exhibition. Neither Thorns nor the NWSL Entities nor the Released Parties (as defined below) will be responsible for weather conditions; acts of God; acts of terrorism; civil disturbances; local, state or federal regulation, order or policy; work stoppage; epidemic, pandemic or any other issue concerning public health or safety; or any other event outside of their control that may cause the cancellation or postponement of any NWSL game/event/exhibition.
VERIFICATION OF WINNER: The potential winner must meet all eligibility requirements and comply with these Official Rules to be confirmed as the official winner. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the potential winner’s identity, age, and eligibility. The potential winner may be required to present a valid photo ID (such as a driver’s license or government-issued identification) to confirm age (18 or older) and residency, and to confirm they have not already won a prize in this Sweepstakes.
Each potential winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release (where permitted by law) as a condition of claiming the prize. Each potential winner may receive an IRS Form 1099 for any prize valued at $600 or greater. By accepting the prize, winner agrees to the publicity release terms described in the Publicity Release section below.
If the first person to complete the task at a Game is deemed ineligible, disqualified for any reason, or refuses the prize or required paperwork, the Sponsor may, at its discretion, determine the next-eligible person who completed the task as the alternate potential winner, subject to verification. If an eligible alternate cannot be reasonably determined or contacted (for example, if no other participant completed the task or the identity of the next person is not clear), the prize for that Game may remain unawarded.
The prize may be awarded immediately on-site or arranged for later delivery. Sponsor will coordinate with each confirmed winner to either present the Ring Video Doorbell at the game or provide details for pick-up or shipment of the prize. If a potential winner cannot be located at the Game (e.g., has left the Venue) or does not make arrangements to receive the prize, the Sponsor reserves the right to deem that winner ineligible and offer the prize to an alternate as described above, or not award the prize at Sponsor’s discretion.
ENTRY PUBLICATION, LICENSE, AND RELEASE: Except where prohibited by law, by participating in the Sweepstakes and/or accepting a prize, each entrant and winner grants to Sponsor and its designees the perpetual right to use his or her name, nickname, voice, photograph, image, likeness, statements, biographical information, and any footage or recordings of the entrant’s participation (including the act of finding the Ring Video Doorbell and shouting the phrase) for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes in any media now known or hereafter developed, worldwide and without limitation, without any further compensation or notice. Winners may be asked to pose for photographs or participate in interviews or other promotional content, and by accepting the prize they consent to such activities and the Sponsor’s use of resulting materials as described above. By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant (a) agrees that his/her entry does not violate NWSL’s Terms of Use accessible at https://www.nwslsoccer.com/terms; and (b) release in perpetuity the Released Parties (as defined herein) from any claims, demands, losses and liabilities of any nature arising out of or in any way connected with the entry and use thereof as permitted hereunder, including, but not limited to, claims of copyright or trademark infringement, false endorsement, libel, slander, defamation or infringement of rights of publicity or privacy. Nothing herein will obligate the NWSL Entities to make any use of any of the rights set forth herein.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY/PUBLICITY RELEASE: By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees to (a) be bound by these Official Rules, including all entry requirements, and (b) waive any and all claims against Thorns, the NWSL Entities and each of their respective parents, affiliated companies, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensees, distributors, dealers, retailers, printers, representatives, advertising and promotion agencies, any Sweepstakes prize provider or commercial Thorns, and any other company associated with the Sweepstakes and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives (collectively, “Released Parties”) for any injury, damage or loss that may occur, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from participation in the Sweepstakes, receipt or use of any prize (or any portion thereof) or any travel or activity related thereto. By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant gives his/her express permission to be contacted by Thorns and/or NWSL by telephone, email and/or postal mail for Sweepstakes purposes. Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, grants to Thorns, NWSL and each of their respective designees the right to publicize his/her name, city and state of residence, prize information, photograph, voice, statements and/or other likeness for advertising, promotional, trade and any other purpose, in any media or format now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world, in perpetuity, without limitation and without further compensation, consideration, permission or notification, unless prohibited by law.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with or attempts to interfere with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes, or who violates these Official Rules or behaves in an unsportsmanlike, disruptive, or inappropriate manner. Sponsor’s decisions in all matters related to the Sweepstakes (including the determination of the first eligible participant to ring the doorbell and shout the phrase at each Game) are final and binding. Released Parties are not responsible for failures or malfunctions of Ring Video Doorbell, wireless towers or cellular tower equipment; any error, omission, interruption, defect or delay in wireless or other transmission, processing or communication; printing, typographical or other errors appearing within these Official Rules, in any Sweepstakes-related advertisements or other materials; cancellation or postponement of any NWSL game/event/exhibition; or any other errors, problems or difficulties of any kind, whether human, mechanical, electronic or other, relating to the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with administration of the Sweepstakes, processing of entries, announcement of any winner or any Sweepstakes-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users (e.g., hacking) or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes. Released Parties are not responsible for injury to entrant resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Sweepstakes; attempt to undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes by cheating, deception or other unfair playing practices; intend to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrant or any representative of Thorns and/or NWSL; or who are in violation of these Official Rules, as solely determined by Thorns, will be disqualified and all associated entries will be void. Thorns shall have the sole right to disqualify any entrant for violation of these Official Rules or any applicable laws relating to the Sweepstakes and to resolve all disputes in its sole discretion. Released Parties (a) make no warranty, guaranty,or representation of any kind concerning any prize (or any portion thereof) and (b) disclaim any implied warranty. Thorns’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
Thorns and NWSL reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to modify, suspend, extend. or cancel the Sweepstakes (or any portion thereof) in the event Thorns is prevented from executing the Sweepstakes as contemplated herein by any event beyond Thorns’s control, including, but not limited to: fire; flood; earthquake; explosion; public health epidemic or crisis; labor dispute or strike; act of God or public enemy; network or equipment failure; riot or civil disturbance; terrorist threat or activity; war (declared or undeclared); court order; or federal, state or local government law, order or regulation. Thorns and NWSL also reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to modify, suspend, extend or cancel the Sweepstakes (or any portion thereof) should virus, bugs, unauthorized human intervention or other causes or events corrupt administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper operation of the Sweepstakes. Thorns also reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify these Official Rules for clarification purposes without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the Sweepstakes.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY RING VIDEO CAMERA OR OTHER PROPERTY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR UNDERMINE THE CONTENT OR LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND, SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THORNS WILL DISQUALIFY ANY ENTRANT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT AND THORNS, NWSL ENTITIES AND THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) AND OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
ARBITRATION; CLASS ACTION WAIVER: As a condition of entering this Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees that (a) any and all disputes, claims, controversies or causes of action arising out of or relating to this Sweepstakes or any prizes awarded (each, a "Claim") shall be (i) arbitrated on an individual basis only and shall not be consolidated or joined with or in any arbitration or other proceeding involving a Claim of any other party and (ii) settled by binding arbitration in Portland, Oregon before a single arbitrator appointed by JAMS in accordance with its then governing rules and procedures, and judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered by any court having jurisdiction thereof; and (b) under no circumstance will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses. Everything on the website including the prizes is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. For New Jersey residents, the limitations set forth above may be inapplicable where attorneys' fees, court costs or other damages are mandated by statute. Some jurisdictions may not allow the limitations or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages or exclusion of implied warranties so some of the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. Check your local laws for any restrictions or limitations regarding these limitations or exclusions.
CHOICE OF LAW: These Official Rules shall be governed by and construed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, U.S.A, applicable to contracts entered into and performed exclusively in that State.
