Know Before You Go Hall of Fame Matchday

Portland Thorns Prepare to Honor Christine Sinclair with Hall of Fame Induction, Jersey Retirement Ceremony at Providence Park on Oct. 4 vs Bay FC

PORTLAND, Ore. (October 1, 2025) – As the Portland Thorns prepare to make club legend Christine Sinclair the first player to be inducted into the Thorns Hall of Fame and have her jersey retired on Saturday, October 4 at Providence Park, fans can take advantage of exclusive promotions and merch offerings to help commemorate Portland’s most iconic player ahead of a critical playoff battle. Gates are scheduled to open at 5 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online at thorns.com/tickets.

CHRISTINE SINCLAIR HALL OF FAME INDUCTION & JERSEY RETIREMENT

Sinclair’s ceremony is set to take place before Portland’s 7 p.m. kickoff against Bay FC. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as Sinclair’s ceremony will begin immediately after teams conclude pre-match warmups.

Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to purchase exclusive merchandise to celebrate this momentous occasion in Thorns history. Exclusive merch offerings include:

-Superhero Christine Sinclair Crewneck Sweatshirts

-Christine Sinclair Graphic T-Shirt designed by Sinclair’s Nieces

-Thorns Hall of Fame Christine Sinclair Scarves

Following the final whistle, the Thorns will also begin to distribute 2,500 exclusive Christine Sinclair posters as fans exit Providence Park.

WHAT’S AT STAKE ON THE PITCH

As the postseason race continues to heat up, the Thorns must get a positive result against Bay to keep itself in a good position to chase a home playoff berth. After a 1-0 road defeat to Bay earlier this season, Portland will want to get even with Bay and record their first win at Providence Park since August 10 (4-2-win vs Seattle Reign).

Portland could finish Week 23 in 4th with the following scenarios:

-Portland win against Bay FC

-Gotham FC win or draw against Seattle Reign

-Houston Dash win or draw against Orlando Pride

-Washington Spirit win or draw against San Diego Wave

Bay could enter the match on the verge of elimination if the Houston Dash and Racing Louisville win their respective matches. Regardless of what happens, the Thorns must be ready for a tough contest against a Bay side fighting to survive and ready to play spoiler.

RACE TO THE FINISH

With the regular season rapidly ending, the Thorns are excited to offer fans its new “Race to the Finish” ticket package to help pack Providence Park! This package, available to purchase here, starts at $40 and will give Thorns entry into the final two league matches on October 4 vs Bay FC (Christine Sinclair HOF Induction & Jersey Retirement) and November 2 vs Houston Dash (Fan Appreciation).
