Portland Thorns 2026 NWSL Schedule and Preseason Information Announced

PORTLAND, Ore. (January 15, 2026) – The National Women’s Soccer League announced today the 2026 regular season schedule with the Portland Thorns set to host 15 matches at Providence Park for its 14thNWSL campaign.

The Thorns have also released information regarding its 2026 preseason, which includes the arrival of five non-roster invitees, two trips to California and a preseason fixture at Providence Park currently scheduled for Friday, March 6 (opponent and time to be announced at a later date).

2026 NWSL REGULAR SEASON

Portland — who will contest the opening match of the 2026 NWSL season — begin on the road for a third-straight year, this time at Washington Spirit for a rematch of the 2025 NWSL Semifinal on Friday, March 13 (5 p.m. PT, Prime Video).

The Thorns will then host rivals Seattle Reign FC for its home opener at Providence Park on Friday, March 20 (7 p.m. PT, Prime Video), the first time since 2013 that Portland has opened at home against Seattle. The reverse fixture at Seattle’s Lumen Field will be played on Sunday, July 12 (1 p.m. PT, ESPN).

With the introduction of league expansion sides Denver Summit FC and Boston Legacy FC, 2026 will see Portland’s schedule expand to 30 games, facing each opponent twice, once at home and once on the road. Portland will welcome Denver on Saturday, August 22 (5:45 p.m. PT, ION) and Boston on Saturday, October 3 (5:45 p.m. PT, ION).

To wrap up the 2026 season, Portland will play North Carolina Courage at home on Friday, October 23 (7 p.m. PT, Prime Video) then make the trip to face the Houston Dash on Sunday, November 1 (2 p.m. PT, ESPN TBD) for NWSL Decision Day, the second-consecutive year both sides face off to close out league action.

2026 marks the third season in the NWSL’s landmark four-year domestic media rights package with CBS Sports, ESPN, Prime Video and Scripps/ION, with Victory+ also set to join following their addition in the expanded media rights package announced last September.

Across the 30-game slate, the Portland Thorns will feature in four matches broadcast on CBS with three available to watch on CBS Sports Network. Additionally, the Thorns will also have two games air on ESPN, three on ESPN2, five on Prime Video, seven on ION, four on Victory+ and one on NWSL+. The exact network that will broadcast Portland’s final match at Houston will be confirmed ahead of NWSL Decision Day, which ESPN gained exclusive rights to as part of the league’s media rights expansion.

2026 PORTLAND THORNS PRESEASON

Thorns players are scheduled to report back to Portland on January 16 before heading to Santa Barbara, California for a preseason training camp that will run between January 20-30. Portland will then return to Indio, California for its third consecutive participation at the Coachella Valley Invitational (CVI), scheduled for February 13-21.
