Portland Thorns FC have announced its 2024 National Women’s Soccer League regular-season schedule, presented by Alaska Airlines. The team will begin the season on the road, facing Kansas City Current at their newly built stadium, CPKC Stadium, on Saturday, March 16. The match will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+, with kickoff set for 10am PT.

Thorns FC will host its home opener the following week, on Sunday, March 24, welcoming NY/NJ Gotham FC to Providence Park. Kickoff for the match is set for 4pm PT, and fans can enjoy the match live on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+.

This year Portland will play a total of 26 games, facing each team twice, once at home and once on the road, with the last regular-season match of the year taking place at Providence Park on Friday, November 1 at 7pm PT against Angel City, streaming on Prime Video.

The 2024 campaign marks the beginning of the league’s landmark four-year domestic media rights agreements with CBS Sports, ESPN, Prime Video and Scripps Sports on ION Network, that will see 121 matches, including 113 regular season contests, all seven playoff fixtures and the 2024 NWSL Challenge Cup, featured on national platforms throughout the season. Portland Thorns FC will have three matches on CBS, with an additional two on CBS Sports Network, as well as five matches streaming on Prime Video, and nine on Scripps Sports.

As part of the league’s expanded postseason format, eight clubs will qualify for the quarterfinal round taking place the weekend of November 9-10. The semifinal round kicks off the weekend of November 16-17 ahead of the NWSL Championship on November 23.

PORTLAND, Ore. (Saturday, August 15, 2026) – The Portland Thorns continued their impressive home form with a 2-1 win over Orlando Pride on Saturday when forward Caiya Hanks — who was making her return to the pitch after missing action for over a year with an ACL injury — scored a stoppage time winner to secure three points for the home side.

Both sides battled back and forth as they tried to search for the opening goal, with Thorns goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold making three saves to ensure the match remained level going into the halftime break.

The Thorns came out into the second half much more threatening in Orlando’s half and finally broke the deadlock in the 58^th minute when forward Pietra Tordin laid the ball off to forward Deyna Castellanos, who from the top right corner of Orlando’s box placed the ball perfectly into the top left corner of the goal over the hands of Orlando goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse.

The lead was short lived however when Arnold’s diving save to punch out a crossed ball in the 63^rd minute ricocheted off the knees of Orlando forward Jacqueline Ovalle and rolled into the net to level things back up.

From there, Portland and Orlando continued in their fight to search for a second and despite several good looks at goal, the match remained level.

That would all change after Hanks — who subbed on in the 88^th minute — curled the ball into the goal from outside the box in the 96^th to send Providence Park into a frenzy as the Thorns secured three points and extended its home unbeaten streak to 12 matches, nine on the season.
