PORTLAND, Ore. – To kickoff the 2024 season at home in spectacular fashion, Portland Thorns FC have partnered with Capitol Records recording artist FLETCHER and will feature her hit single, “Eras of Us” across the club’s platforms. The critically acclaimed singer/songwriter’s pop anthem will serve as the soundtrack for the team’s 2024 hype video, add to the unmatched atmosphere at Providence Park on matchday, and throughout the season.
FLETCHER’s “Eras of Us,” will inspire a season long campaign centered around the exhilarating pop anthem built on bittersweet reminiscence and brutally raw confession. The multi-layered lyrical masterpiece explores the thrilling evolution of entering into a new era – acknowledging the past, and moving into the future – reminiscent of this new period in Thorns FC history, highlighted by Lisa Bhathal Merage and Alex Bhathal’s purchase of the club in January of this year.
“Aligned with the Bhathal’s bold vision for the next generation of Thorns soccer, our dedication to enhancing the fan experience is unwavering,” said Thorns FC President of Business Operations Alexis Lee. “FLETCHER’s music will help provide a new soundtrack to a season, and will be the first of many ways in which we’ll look to connect music, art, culture and more with Thorns fans and supporters.”
Through strategic collaborations with artists like FLETCHER, the goal is to reflect the rich diversity of our fan base.”
FLETCHER’s sophomore album In Search Of The Antidote is out now on Capitol Records and she will kick off her global headline tour of the UK, Europe, and Australia beginning this spring. In addition to the Thorns FC campaign anthem, Portland fans can hear her new music, including tracks from In Search of the Antidote, at the home opener against Gotham FC on March 24 at Providence Park.
After kicking off the 2024 season on the road, The Thorns will begin their home campaign on Sunday, March 24 against NJ/NY Gotham FC. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. PT at Providence Park and tickets are available at ThornsFC.com/tickets.
PORTLAND, Ore. (Saturday, August 15, 2026) – The Portland Thorns continued their impressive home form with a 2-1 win over Orlando Pride on Saturday when forward Caiya Hanks — who was making her return to the pitch after missing action for over a year with an ACL injury — scored a stoppage time winner to secure three points for the home side.
Both sides battled back and forth as they tried to search for the opening goal, with Thorns goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold making three saves to ensure the match remained level going into the halftime break.
The Thorns came out into the second half much more threatening in Orlando’s half and finally broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when forward Pietra Tordin laid the ball off to forward Deyna Castellanos, who from the top right corner of Orlando’s box placed the ball perfectly into the top left corner of the goal over the hands of Orlando goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse.
The lead was short lived however when Arnold’s diving save to punch out a crossed ball in the 63rd minute ricocheted off the knees of Orlando forward Jacqueline Ovalle and rolled into the net to level things back up.
From there, Portland and Orlando continued in their fight to search for a second and despite several good looks at goal, the match remained level.
That would all change after Hanks — who subbed on in the 88th minute — curled the ball into the goal from outside the box in the 96th to send Providence Park into a frenzy as the Thorns secured three points and extended its home unbeaten streak to 12 matches, nine on the season.
UP NEXT: The Portland Thorns host Denver Summit FC for the first time at Providence Park on Saturday, August 22. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:45 pm PT on ION and 910 ESPN Portland. Purchase tickets for the match HERE.
