PORTLAND, Ore. (August 30, 2025) – The Portland Thorns announced today that forward Payton Linnehan has been traded to the North Carolina Courage in exchange for $48,000 in 2025 intra-league transfer funds.
Linnehan joined the Thorns after five seasons at Penn State as the #11 overall pick in the 2024 NWSL Draft. She appeared in 40 matches across all competitions, scoring on eight separate occasions and assisting twice for the Thorns.
The Portland Thorns thank Payton for her contributions and wish her the best of luck moving forward.
