‍PORTLAND, Ore. (Saturday, September 19, 2026) – The Portland Thorns got back to winning ways with a 4-1 road victory against Orlando Pride on Saturday afternoon at Inter.Co Stadium.

Portland got the match going early in the 3^rd minute when forward Sophia Wilson laid a pass off to midfielder Nina Nijstad to take her shot from the top of the box, launching the ball into the back of the net to grab her first NWSL goal.

Orlando quickly tried to find an equalizer but standout defensive efforts — including a 6^th minute block in the box from defender Reyna Reyes — kept the hosts at bay.

In the 27^th minute, forward Caiya Hanks drew a penalty in favor and Wilson would step up to convert from the spot to double Portland’s lead while also becoming Portland’s all-time penalty kick goals leader.

The two-goal lead was short-lived however when Orlando’s Ally Lemos scored shortly after in the 30^th minute with a right-footed shot from outside the box.

Both sides came out in the second half looking to add another goal to their respective tallies, going back and forth as they exchanged momentum. Eventually, midfielder Cassandra Bogere found forward Morgan Weaver in Orlando’s half and Weaver shot the ball from outside the box to triple the Thorns lead in the 74^th minute, her first goal since November 2024.

The Thorns added a fourth in the dying minutes of the match to lock down the road win, with Wilson providing her second assist of the match to midfielder Renee Lyles who received the ball in Orlando’s box and put it past the keeper in the 88^th minute.

PORTLAND, Ore. (Saturday, August 15, 2026) – The Portland Thorns continued their impressive home form with a 2-1 win over Orlando Pride on Saturday when forward Caiya Hanks — who was making her return to the pitch after missing action for over a year with an ACL injury — scored a stoppage time winner to secure three points for the home side.

Both sides battled back and forth as they tried to search for the opening goal, with Thorns goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold making three saves to ensure the match remained level going into the halftime break.

The Thorns came out into the second half much more threatening in Orlando’s half and finally broke the deadlock in the 58^th minute when forward Pietra Tordin laid the ball off to forward Deyna Castellanos, who from the top right corner of Orlando’s box placed the ball perfectly into the top left corner of the goal over the hands of Orlando goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse.

The lead was short lived however when Arnold’s diving save to punch out a crossed ball in the 63^rd minute ricocheted off the knees of Orlando forward Jacqueline Ovalle and rolled into the net to level things back up.

From there, Portland and Orlando continued in their fight to search for a second and despite several good looks at goal, the match remained level.

That would all change after Hanks — who subbed on in the 88^th minute — curled the ball into the goal from outside the box in the 96^th to send Providence Park into a frenzy as the Thorns secured three points and extended its home unbeaten streak to 12 matches, nine on the season.
