Prime Video Announces March 6 Premiere Date for For the Win: NWSL

Prime Video also released the official trailer and key art for the upcoming docuseries featuring some of the National Women’s Soccer League’s (NWSL) brightest stars, including Alex Morgan, Trinity Rodman, Marta, and Croix Bethune

NEW YORK—February 19, 2025—Today, Prime Video announced a March 6 premiere date and released the official trailer and key art for For the Win: NWSL, the upcoming docuseries from Words + Pictures tracking the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) playoffs through the experiences of some of the games brightest stars. The documentary will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, and is the latest addition to the Prime membership. Prime members enjoy savings, convenience, and entertainment, all in a single membership.

For the Win: NWSL is an immersive 4-part docuseries offering unprecedented access into the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) playoffs and Championship. The series will take fans behind the scenes of one of the most thrilling seasons in NWSL history, chronicling the intensity, resilience, and passion that define the league’s top teams and star players as they battle for the ultimate prize: the Championship trophy.

With players like Alex Morgan and defending 2024 NWSL Champion Orlando Pride legend Marta solidifying their legacies and emerging stars like Trinity Rodman and Croix Bethune from the Washington Spirit picking up the torch, the series delves into the lives of the athletes who have become icons on and off the field. Through exclusive interviews, locker-room access, and heart-pounding match highlights, the documentary captures the nostalgia, emotion, and fierce competition that shapes a playoff run within the fastest growing league in the world.

Presented by Prime Video Sports, For the Win: NWSL is produced by Words + Pictures in association with the NWSL, with Marie Margolius directing. The series is executive produced by Connor Schell and Libby Geist of Words + Pictures, Eli Manning of Ten Till, and Alex Morgan of TOGETHXR.

Prime Video is also home to the 2025 Challenge Cup, which will feature a rematch of last year’s championship when Rodman and the Washington Spirit take on Marta and the Orlando Pride on Friday, March 7. Prime Video will kick off a 25-game regular season Friday night schedule on March 14 when Orlando hosts the newly minted Chicago Stars FC.

PORTLAND, Ore. (Saturday, August 15, 2026) – The Portland Thorns continued their impressive home form with a 2-1 win over Orlando Pride on Saturday when forward Caiya Hanks — who was making her return to the pitch after missing action for over a year with an ACL injury — scored a stoppage time winner to secure three points for the home side.

Both sides battled back and forth as they tried to search for the opening goal, with Thorns goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold making three saves to ensure the match remained level going into the halftime break.

The Thorns came out into the second half much more threatening in Orlando’s half and finally broke the deadlock in the 58^th minute when forward Pietra Tordin laid the ball off to forward Deyna Castellanos, who from the top right corner of Orlando’s box placed the ball perfectly into the top left corner of the goal over the hands of Orlando goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse.

The lead was short lived however when Arnold’s diving save to punch out a crossed ball in the 63^rd minute ricocheted off the knees of Orlando forward Jacqueline Ovalle and rolled into the net to level things back up.

From there, Portland and Orlando continued in their fight to search for a second and despite several good looks at goal, the match remained level.

That would all change after Hanks — who subbed on in the 88^th minute — curled the ball into the goal from outside the box in the 96^th to send Providence Park into a frenzy as the Thorns secured three points and extended its home unbeaten streak to 12 matches, nine on the season.
