Forward Morgan Weaver scored the game's lone goal in the second half as Thorns FC recorded a 1-0 win on the road at the Chicago Red Stars in the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup. With the win, the Thorns have recorded back-to-back wins to open a season for just the second time in club history and own first place in the NWSL Challenge Cup West Division.
